Letter 4 -His Will-

His Perfect Will

An all powerful God does not need permission from you and I to carry fourth His will. What is His will you may ask, it is His divine plan. A plan that is permanent that will occur no matter what happens under the sun. Now your next question may be… “I thought we had free will?” We most definitely do have free will.

Let me explain it this way. Let us take a board game as an example. The game is made up for more than two players and it has a set of rules. The “will” of the game is to have someone win at the end but it depends on the player and the moves that they make for that outcome to occur.

It is the same with God, there are multiple players except for the fact that there are two opposing teams. God’s team and satan’s team. God has His rules and the way things are meant to go but it depends on the person’s decisions what the outcome may be.

It is God’s will that all are led to eternal life that is if they choose to follow Jesus Christ.

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”

John 14:6 (NIV)

Jesus made the way! And because of His sacrifice we have the freedom to choose. If we choose Jesus then we can approach the Throne Room because we are purified in Him.

Jesus Christ dying on a cross to pay for your sins and mine was and is part of God’s will. Which is why He does not make sense to us. How could it be God’s will for Jesus to die when He could have just spoken the word and it could have been done. And how could Jesus made human choose to be a living sacrifice for everyone of us that have sinned. It does not make sense! How could someone love a person that goes against everything that they are and stand for.

Jesus is patient, kind, does not envy, boast, is not proud, is not rude, self-seeking, not easily angered, keeps no record of wrongs, He does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth, He protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres (1 Corinthians 4-7) because He is Love and He will never fail. Jesus is all of that and more while a human is the complete opposite. How could He have died for sinners! Because of Love.

The Greatest Love

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in His love.

I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!

This is my commandment:Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you slaves because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.

You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: Love each other”

John 15:9-17 NLT

In this portion of the Bible, Jesus, yes Jesus professes His love for His creation, you and I. He not only professes that love but shares that we ought to be obedient to His commandments as He is obedient to the Father, the Great I AM.

Then He proceeds to share His commandment and how that Love led Him to give up His life for you and I. He then states that we are His friends because we were bought with His blood, no longer slaves to bondage. Key thing that He states, “You are my friends IF you do what I command”. It is not a suggestion, it is a command to love one another. He chose us by dying for us! By giving us that opportunity to choose what we will live for.

As radical as it all may seem, this is why Jesus gave His life. He gave His life for you and I to be set free from sin, bondage, and redeem us from eternal death so that we may have the opportunity to be part of God’s Kingdom, be His friends and His family.

In simpler terms, Jesus died in order for humanity to have a relationship with Him once again. When sin entered the world through Adam and Eve it disconnected our relationship with God. Therefore, He made Himself a living sacrifice that was and is worthy to redeem us in order to have that connection with Him again.

He already took His turn on this board game–Jesus gave His life.

What is your next move?

Who do you choose?
